THE ELA CHRONICLES

Editors’ Note

Dearest Readers,

We welcome you to the ELA Chronicles; the voice and vision for the students of CHSE- Malé. Through these digital pages, you’ll find poignant poetries that move the soul, illuminating pictures never seen before, thought provoking stories, essays and even recreational games – all brought to you by our very own dedicated students carefully vetted through the expertise of our English teachers.

This literary journey would not have been possible without their efforts and the unwavering support of our school leadership.

As you explore this issue, may the diversity of the world around us inspire and envision all creative minds. We hope to see your imaginations flourish and see you contribute through further submissions in the future! The ELA chronicles is not just a newsletter – it is a vessel to connect us all!

Sincerely,

Mohamed Nashath (Batch 2026)

Dear Readers,

It is with immense pride and joy that I announce the launch of our very own online newsletter, The ELA Chronicles! This milestone would not have been possible without the dedication, creativity, and hard work of our talented students and supportive teachers.  Your enthusiasm for literature and language has brought this platform to life, and I am thrilled to see your voices shine through its pages.

To our student contributors – your passion for writing, editing, photography and designing is truly inspiring. To the editorial team and English teachers – thank you for your guidance and tireless efforts in shaping this vision. The ELA Chronicles is more than just a newsletter; it is a celebration of our collective love for English literature and a testament to what teamwork can achieve.

I would also like to extend my deepest gratitude to our respected Principal Mr Abdulla Didi, our leading teachers, Ms Shameela and Mr Ahmed Hashim and school SMT, for their assistance, encouragement and belief in this initiative. Your leadership inspires us to keep pushing boundaries.

Students, let us continue to learn, create, and grow together. Here’s to many more editions of creativity and excellence!

Warm regards,

Rahma Adam

Teacher In-Charge, (ELA)

ELA PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Ideas are what shapes the world, and with the advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI), human innovation is something that is slowly dissipating. However, I hope that this online platform is a place for all the ideas that are locked up due to the takeover of AI; a stage for ideas to shine bright, because every idea is a star, and every star deserves to be seen. Moreover, not only is this a home for creativity, but also a milestone for our school. The start of something new, from scratch, with the hard work of students, teachers, and the SMT – a product of strength and teamwork. After all, even the lightbulb was something created out of darkness.

I hope that all CHSE-Male’ students find solace from your everyday lives and learn something new, or gain some appreciation for the work our fellow students put into their submissions.

On a finishing note, I hope the ELA CHRONICLES receives the most amazing submissions from fellow mates and the interest and captivation of viewers from far and wide.
